I would recommend Stanley Stinkbug. Ok, sorry my reference is what a 2 year old would read, but it is a wonderful book about being different and being ok with that. BTW I can barely read one book at a time let alone 5. You are amazing.

AMEN Lacers! I’m ever so proud of you. I’ve realized lately that the revelation God has given me this past year – “Don’t worry about what to do – just be” – holds a much deeper meaning than I originally presumed.

We can’t ever worry about what we do — that just leads us to use that measuring stick that never works. (It’s like trying to measure with your arms… you know how you try to keep your arms as stiff as possible, but you’re always a few inches short of what the measurement actually is?? Anyway.)

But to be – just be – is a combination of 1) simply existing in God’s everlasting love & grace, and then, 2) allowing Him to work in us & work through us. Sure, it’s important to rest in God… but he’s also called us to move. To act with the dreams He’s given us. To use the talents that he’s given us, whether it be valued as 100 shiny coins or a measly 5 dingy ones.

Then, when we do move forward, take that step of faith and jump into the callings that ever persuade us whether they’re faintly whispering from a long distance away or shouting in our ears — that’s when a most glorious thing happens. The right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing, because it doesn’t matter. What matters is that God is working in you. And believe me Lace, God truly is working in you. Know and trust that, no matter how you feel when you get up in the morning or when you go to bed at night.

Isn’t it so awesome to be in His hands?

Lacey, I just finished reading your blog. I LOVE IT. I must say that you are an exceptional writer and your blog is one of those that I will now look at and think “why can’t I be witty and funny, like Lacey.” So see, you don’t have to practice in the mirror. Personally, I haven’t been blogging to my full potential – website above, but maybe you have inspired me. I am very blessed to you have you in my life and, as we always say, we need to hang out; but actually hang out. Miss you. Until then, please keep blogging, because YOU, just made my day.

What kind of puppy did you get? I have always said that a puppy is more difficult to take care of than a child because you can always put a child in the other room to nap. If you do that with a puppy, you may lose the door.

Last night Sophie said she wanted to pray for her friend Lacey. I told he that you were not feeling well so she wanted to include you in her prayers.

Then she asked “What scared her?” I thought this was an intersting question coming from a 2 year old. Prophetic is probably not the right word here, but psychic maybe.

I am learning ALL about boundaries right now. There is a great book out there called (rightly titled) “Boundaries”. you should look it up. It could be some reading on the plane while you travel.

I have to be honest, your blog is one of the best, well-written, clever and even FUNNY blogs out there. You put other blogs to shame. I mean it. I love reading your blog. You are witty and creative, and I’m not just blowing smoke.

Btw- where have you been?!?! I have missed you. Sean always experiences a look of disappointment from me when he walks in with out you.
